UK implant role ahead: ADI President’s postion from November

15th July 2013

AS many of you may know I have a particular focus in my clinical work on dental implants and the benefits of implantology on smile makeovers and restorative dentistry.

It’s a subject I’ve focused on for many years now and throughout my professional career I’ve always been impressed by the amazing results that can be achieved for patients who choose the implant route.

I have travelled throughout the world in pursuit of the latest and newest advances in the implant world and have had the opportunity to network with many of the leading lights in the implant field.

As a result I feel I’m then in a stronger position to share with our patients here at our Glasgow clinic and the Edinburgh clinic where I also offer implant treatment to patients.

As part of my interest and focus on the implant world I’ve been a member of the Association of Dental Implantology UK – a charitable organisation which is set up to provide information both to patients and to dental professionals working in the implant world.

I often attend as a delegate or as a lecturer some of the ADI Study Club meetings which are held throughout the UK. These are invaluable sessions which bring together groups of implant dentists to share knowledge and expertise.

EXCITING AND INTERESTING CHALLENGE AHEAD

We recently held our final ADI meeting in London before I take over the role of UK President – an exciting and interesting challenge – which lies ahead from November onwards.

It’s a two year term of office and within that two year period we’ll be holding our major ADI congress which will see delegates coming from all over the world to Glasgow for the event.

The congress dates for your diary are May 13-16, 2015. I will be assisted by the ADI team and by my scientific co-ordinator Stephen Jacobs who is also a past president of the ADI.

I’ll share with you the story of my presidency as it unfolds – and I’m happy to take any questions you may have about my involvement with the ADI.

If you have any questions about the blog content or the benefits of dental implant surgery in general, please don’t hesitate to ask – feel free to to contact us here at the Glasgow clinic on 0141 339 7579.
